BREAKING NEWS...BREAKING NEWS...BREAKING NEWS...BREAKING NEWS...

Dear Residents,
Thank you for all your support over the last few years. The basis for starting the plan was that we wanted it to be what you wanted for our village. Well, you have voted and the Neighbourhood Plan got a resounding yes vote.

Total Yes: 268 (92%)
Total No: 22
Turnout: 43.5% (which is quite good for a NP referendum)

Hopefully know we can continue working together and implement the plan.

Kind Regards,

Crowhurst Neighbourhood Plan Group

SPEEDING STILL AN ISSUE?

Whilst many residents of Crowhurst Village have been grateful for the noticeable reduction in traffic volume through the Village, since the building of the new Hastings-Bexhill link road, many still feel that the speed at which a good number of vehicles travel at, throughout the designated 30 MPH limit on stretches of road, remains a real threat and danger to other, more considerate, drivers and certainly to pedestrians who feel reluctant to go anywhere in the Village by foot (and some have no choice) for the fear of cars traveling too fast and putting their lives in danger, as well as regarding such speeding as simply anti-social as well as unpleasant to those who live along such roads.

Some of you may have noticed, over the past few years, that 'home-made' speed signs have been appearing at random sites around the Village in the hope that they would draw the attention of speeding motorist and perhaps have the effect of controlling such anti-social behaviour? Perhaps some motorists have adjusted their behaviour and speed. BUT, alas, it seems many have not, and some residents feel the speeding problem has increased?

It is felt that we, the residents of Crowhurst, should not let this important issue relating to Village life be 'lost to history' and that we should endeavour to be active and live in the hope that the 'powers that be' sit up and take notice of what is felt to still be a very serious, dangerous and anti-social problem.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

STOP PRESS

Well, at least we know what this vandal thinks?

Why doesn't he or she identify him/herself and perhaps explain the reason for their vandalism?

This took someone hours to make and paint, but just a few minutes for someone to destroy. Why?

We have recently had a number of Shed Breaks and General Break In's targeting out Buildings inc work tools, most are happening overnight.

We have been doing extra patrols in the local area's to target and tackle this, recently we have had some good results.

On Sunday 12th December a Male was arrested in the early hours in Battle in connection with Shed breaks in the local area. Police initially saw his vehicle in suspicious activity and he initially failed to stop for them. After a short pursuit he was stopped and arrested. He was later charged with driving and theft offences and remanded in custody.

Further to this another Male was arrested in the early hours last week also in connection with Break-in's in Rother. Local Police will continue to carry out proactive rural patrols in the early hours.

If you have any information on rural Break-In's please contact us & quote Operation Bluebird2

THE ROAD POEM by Laura Cecil.

Daffodils bloom in mid-December?
Let’s build another road.
Air more toxic than cigarettes?
Let’s build another road.
Bird-song, flowers,trees and bees?
Let’s build another road.
Bio-diversity? Who needs that?
Let’s build another road.
No money to care for those that need it?
Oh, build another road.
Frack gas, dig coal, burn oil for power,
And build another road.
Not bikes, nor trains, forget shanks’ pony,
Build another road.
Green belt, green lungs, clean air? No fear!
Just build another road.
A better vision, with less pollution?
No! Build another road.
Keep global warming below 2 degrees?
No! Build another road.
But that new road’s made more congestion!
So… let’s build another road!

But can’t we find another answer?

Because what is scaring me,
As the Paris Summit high-lighted,
There is no planet B.
